In the year 1630, under the command of king Gustav Aldof II, the Swedes intervened in the thirty years'war on the protestant side. Due to better tactics and trainging, thye proved to be superior to their enemy in the cathloc camp. However, after the death of thier king near Lutzen in 1632, the swedes were not able to achieve another major victory.
